Create a probable cause record

Applies to User Roles:
System Administrator

A cause code in an incident links to a probable cause record that contains detailed information about the possible cause of an incident. HPE Service Manager provides a default probcause table that contains default probable cause records. A System Administrator can modify these records or add new probable cause records as necessary.

To create a new probable cause record:

  1. Click Incident Management > Tools > Probable Cause.
  2. Type a name in the Cause Code field.
  3. Provide additional information for the other fields.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click OK.
