Probable cause records

Incidents contain an optional Cause Code field that links the incident to a probable cause record. Cause codes enable you to categorize, assign, and track incidents more easily. Cause codes simplify incident reporting and tracking.

When you add a cause code to an incident using the Fill function, Incident Management adds accompanying information from the corresponding probable cause record.

HPE Service Manager has a default probcause file that contains default probable cause records. An administrator can modify these records or add new probable cause records as necessary.
