Change

A change is the addition, modification or elimination of an authorized, planned, or supporting service or component and the related documentation.

Changes are controlled by the Change Management application and, unlike requests, they affect multiple users or business units. Examples include changes to the network environment, facilities, or telephony. A change has a life cycle that contains approvals, alerts, tasks, phases, and closure.

When you submit a change, the Change Management application assigns a unique change record number.
