Set up shared IDOL

For high availability, if you want Service Manager Service Portal to use the IDOL instances deployed for Service Manager for Knowledge Management search, follow the instructions in this section.

To set up shared IDOL, follow these steps:

  1. Deploy the SM shared IDOL in high availability mode. For details, see Configure Smart Analytics for high availability.
  2. Shut down the IDOL services on each Service Manager Service Portal node:

    #service idolserver stop
  3. Configure each Service Manager Service Portal node to use the SM shared IDOL. For details, see the instructions in the Service Manager uses Smart Analytics as the search engine part in Enable Knowledge Management search.

Tip Next, you will need to replace the Service Manager Service Portal generated certificates for the Service Manager Service Portal cluster. See Replace Service Manager Service Portal generated certificates.
