Integration Requirements

This section describes the integration requirements when using the ServiceManagerAdapter9-41 adapter.

Supported Product Versions

The supported product versions for using the ServiceManagerAdapter9-41 adapter are listed in the following table.

Setting up Required Components

You must set up the following required components to establish an integration between UCMDB and Service Manager.

• HPE Universal CMDB installation

  Add a UCMDB Probe for the population feature if you do not already have one.

• HPE Service Manager installation

  Add the UCMDB URL to the System Information Record. See How to Add the UCMDB and UCMDB Browser Connection Information.

• Network connection between the HPE Universal CMDB and HPE Service Manager systems.

Deploying an Appropriate Adapter

To use the ServiceManagerAdapter9-41 adapter, all of your Service Manager server, clients, and applications must be version 9.41 (or later). You need to verify your Service Manager applications version and then find the correct adapter.

To to this, follow these steps:

1. Log in to Service Manager as a system administrator.
2. Enter db in the command line, and press Enter.
3. Enter scversion in the Table field, and then click Search.
4. Click Search again.

5. Check the Application Version value that is displayed.

6. If your applications version is earlier than 9.41, use an old adapter appropriate for your Service Manager applications version. For details, see the Service Manager Universal CMDB Integration Guide for your specific Service Manager applications version.

7. If you are running Service Manager applications 9.41 or later, your UCMDB system must have an appropriate Service Manager 9.41 adapter deployed. You can do this by applying an appropriate content pack (CP) on top of the UCMDB server or deploying an appropriate adapter from the HPE Live Network website.

   • For UCMDB 10.01 or 10.20

     Download the supported adapters for Service Manager 9.41 or later from the HPE Live Network website:

     1. Visit the following URL: https://hpln.hpe.com/rest/contentofferings/community-content-ud-0/contentpackages/8921.
     2. Click SM Adapter for SM 9.41 to download the adapter_for_SM9.41_0.zip file.

     3. Extract the compressed files to your local drive. The adapters for different UCMDB versions are located in different folders, as listed in the following table.

   • For UCMDB 10.11, 10.21 or later

     Apply UCMDB CP 17 on top of the UCMDB server. Note that although the adapters for UCMDB 10.11 and 10.21 are also available from the HPE Live Network website, CP 17 is recommended.
