requestOnBehalf Enables and disables request-on-behalf feature. Set to “true” to enable (default) or “false” to disable the feature.
autoLogin

By default, this parameter is set to "false". When users launch Service Manager Service Portal, the user's organization splash page (with the organization's logo, title, and a Login button) is displayed.

If this parameter is set to "true", when users launch Service Manager Service Portal, the organization splash page is bypassed and users are directly directed to a login page that prompts for a username and password.

Important Do not set this parameter to "true" when SAML Single Sign-On (SSO) is not enabled for Service Manager Service Portal.

sortDropdownList Enables and disables alphanumeric sorting in drop-down lists. Set to “true” to enable or “false” (default) to disable the feature.
enableOneRequestPerItem

By default, this parameter is set to "false," when you order multiple identical items, the items will be placed in one single request. For example, you order item A x 1, item B x 2, and item C x 2, if "enableOneRequestPerItem" is set to "false," three requests (PRxxx) in Service Manager Service Portal and one interaction (SDxxx) in Service Manager will be created.

When this parameter is changed to "true" and the following three steps are performed on the Service Manager Service Portal host server, a request is created for each item. In the example above, five requests (PRxxx) in Service Portal and three interactions (SDxxx) in Service Manager will be created.

  1. Run the following command to edit the adapter.properties file:

     #vim /opt/hp/propel/sx/WEB-INF/adapter.properties
  2. Add the following line to the bottom of the file:

    adapter.sm.externalApproval.enableOneRequestPerItem=true
  3. Run the following commands to restart the services:

    # service jetty-sx restart
    # service catalog restart
dropdownTriggerSearch The Service Portal drop-down lists provide a type ahead feature for searches. By default, after you type three characters in the text box, the system automatically displays the suggested search results. If you want to trigger the search function with one or two characters, enter the characters and press the Tab key. You can also modify the value of this property to change this behavior. For example, change its value to 0 and the system will display the suggested search results right after the first character is entered.

Widgets

A default set of Service Manager Service Portal widgets are provided. You can add these widgets to your organization's Launchpad. These widgets include:

  • PropelLink (URL)
  • Clock

Customize Widgets

Custom widgets are created by changing the KeyPair values, and allow you to add functionality that appears as a tile on the organization's Launchpad.

KeyPair Value Description
widget:PropelLink This widget connects your organization to the product website.
widget:Clock This widget shows date information on the Launchpad, including month, day, and year.
Custom Widgets

Custom Widgets can be configured by clicking the edit icon for the widget KeyPair.

Provide an easily readable display name for the KeyPair, and input the properties for the widget in the Value box. Note that only 10,000 characters are allowed in the KeyPair Value box.

For the Service Manager Service Portal to recognize a custom widget it must be named with a "widget:" prefix. See the format of default widgets for an example of this convention.

Widgets Best Practices

If you want to delete a widget, click the delete icon for the widget in the Customization view. Please note that this operation is permanent and cannot be undone.

Localizing Content

The following organization attributes can accept localized content:

  • portalTitle
  • portalWelcomeMsg
  • portalFooterMsg
  • disclaimerText

Make sure your browser has the desired language activated in settings. Follow the Edit KeyPair process for the attribute you want localized. You will see localized content for these fields the next time you log into the Service Manager Service Portal.
