Launch configuration item (CI) Visualization directly from a change task

Applies to User Roles:

Change Manager

Change Coordinator

From the configuration item (CI) visualization diagram, you can easily view the relationships between CI components as well as the current state of each item in the configuration.

To launch CI Visualization directly from a change task, follow these steps:

  1. Click Change Management > Tasks > Search Tasks.
  2. Use search or advanced search to find one or more records. If you know the name of the task or any other identifying information, type that information into the form.
  3. Select the task whose CI visualization diagram you want to view.
  4. Click More or the More Actions icon, and then select Visualize CI.
    • If there is only one associated CI, the visualization diagram opens and displays the CI and all the first level relationships and CIs. You can expand a node to see additional levels of CIs and relationships.
    • If the Change type allows for multiple CIs and it has more than one associated CI, the Select CI window opens.
  5. Select a CI from the list of associated CIs.
  6. Click Finish. The visualization diagram opens for the selected CI. You can expand a node to see additional levels of CIs and relationships.

  7. Click Back to return to the task record.
