Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Enabling approvals
Service Manager Codeless supports approvals in the out-of-box system for the following objects:
- Interaction
- Change and Change Task
- Request
- Service Catalog Item
- Survey
- Time Period
For the applications based on these objects, you can directly use the approval related features from the out-of-box system.
Tip For more information on the out-of-box approval features for a specific application, see the help topics for the corresponding module.
If you want to enable approval for a Process Designer based object that does not offer approvals in the out-of-box system, such as problem, you need to configure approval from the Process Designer workflow, and then manually add the approval.status field to the related forms. After the approval enablement, users who have the required privileges can use the approval features for the application based on the approval enabled object. The following table describes the approval features available after the approval enablement and the privileges that are required for using the corresponding approval features.
Approval feature | Required security privileges for users in a security area |
---|---|
Approve/deny/retract records in the record menu |
Users who have the "Can Approve” right or are delegated with the approval authority can approve, deny, and retract records. |
Mass approve records in the list view | Users who have the "Expert” right can mass approve records in the list view. |
Approval Inbox |
Users who are in the approver list and have the "Can Approve” right or are delegated with the approval authority can see the record list for an area and perform approval actions from the Approval Inbox. Note Users must also have the privilege to run Approval Inbox. |
Approval delegation | User who have the “Can Delegate Approvals” right can delegate their approval rights to other qualified operators. |
For instructions on enabling approval for a Process Designer based object that does not offer approvals in the out-of-box system, see Enable approval for a Process Designer based object.
