Agent and Server Checking

Agent Up The server receives the expected heartbeat events from the agent every 30 minutes. The agent is up.

Agent Down The server does not receive the expected third heartbeat event after 30 minutes, waits for the five minute grace period to pass, and then opens HTTP connections to retrieve more detailed status information from the agent. After the information has been retrieved, the server generates a critical agent problem event and adds the agent status to the event. The agent is down.

Agent Up Again The agent sends heartbeat events again to the server. The server generates an agent up event, which automatically closes the critical agent problem event. The agent is up again.
