Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Copy configurations between servers
You can export configuration content from one system and import it to other systems using the Content Manager:
Administration > Setup and Maintenance > Content Packs
Alternatively, click Content Packs.
To enable exporting configuration, on the primary OMi server, create a content pack with the configuration content you want to export. To ensure that all desired configuration artifacts are included in the Content Pack, check that the following objects are present:
-
The Required Configuration Folders
Aspects, management templates, and their respective versions are automatically included.
-
The Required Template Versions
The templates not already included in an aspect or management template that is part of the content pack definition are automatically included.
-
The Required Instrumentation
The instrumentation not used by a template or aspect is automatically included.
-
The Required Template Groups
For more information, see Define Content Packs.
Note Exporting and importing the links to the aspects, management templates, policy templates that are assigned to a CI is not supported.
When the content pack is complete, select it in the list of Content Pack Definitions (left pane) and click Export Content Pack Definitions and Content. The configuration data is exported as an archive with the zip
extension. Transfer the archive to the file system on which your browser session is running (this system may be your secondary server), start OMi, and go to the Content Manager UI.
Click Import Content Pack Definitions and Content, browse to the transferred content pack, and click Import to upload the configuration.
Note Content Packs imported through the Content Manager UI must be accessible by the system on which your browser session is running.
