Enable query cache

For system performance consideration, Service Management enables the query cache by default. When the query cache is enabled, Service Management creates a cache table in the Production Database to save query results and the query SQL. Both the queries against the Production Database and Replicated Database are all saved in the cache table

Note When the query result is expired or you refresh the report or dashboard, Service Management will retrieve the data by executing the query from the Production Database or Replicated Database again.

To enable the query cache, follow these steps:

  1. Open the sm.ini file. By default, the file is located on the Service Management server in the C:\Program Files (x86)\HPE\HPE Service Manager 9.50\Server\RUN folder.
  2. Enter the query cache parameters and values in the file. Service Management enables query cache by default and the default values for the parameters are shown as follows:

    dashboardquerycache_enable:1
    dashboardquerycache_dbtime:100
    dashboardquerycache_expire:10
  3. Save the sm.ini file.
