Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

JMX Console
This section provides an overview to the JMX console and instructions for changing the JMX password.
To access the OMi JMX console, enter the following URL in a browser on the OMi gateway or data processing server:
https://localhost:29000
Note By default, for security reasons, the JMX console is accessible only from the localhost. You can disable this limitation so that you can access the JMX console remotely. See How to enable accessing JMX console remotely
To access the RTSM JMX console, enter the following URL:
https://localhost:29912
Learn more
The JMX consoles come embedded in OMi and the RTSM, and enable you to:
-
Perform management operations
-
View performance of processes
-
Troubleshoot problematic areas of OMi
The credentials to access the JMX consoles are configured when you deploy OMi. To change the JMX password, see How to change the JMX password
Note The default login name for the OMi JMX console is admin, for the RTSM JMX console sysadmin. The login names cannot be changed.
You can configure the OMi including the JMX console to work with TLS to encrypt JMX data for added security. For details, see Configure TLS for OMi.
Tasks
Changing the JMX password affects both the OMi and RTSM JMX consoles.
-
Disable OMi on the data processing server.
-
Start the OMi configuration wizard on the data processing server:
<OMi_HOME>/bin/config-server-wizard.[bat|sh]
-
Proceed through the wizard. In the Login Settings page, enter the new JMX password.
-
Complete the wizard to save the new password. The operating system registers and encrypts the password change on the data processing server.
-
Enable OMi on the data processing server.
-
On all other servers, disable OMi, start the configuration wizard and proceed through the wizard. You do not need to enter the new JMX password again.
When the configuration wizard completes it retrieves the password from the data processing server and registers it.
Enable OMi on all servers.
-
Open the Infrastructure Settings manager:
Administration > Setup and Maintenance > Infrastructure Settings
Alternatively, click Infrastructure Settings.
-
Select Foundations.
-
Select Security.
-
In the Security-Login table, locate Restrict remote access to JMX console. Change the value to false.
-
Access the RTSM JMX console:
https://localhost:29912
-
Locate
UCMDB:service=Settings Services
and click the link to jump to the Operations table. -
Locate the
setGlobalSettingValue
operations, and provide the following parameter values:name: restrict.jmx.to.localhost
value: false
-
Click Invoke, and restart OMi.
