Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Start, stop, or restart OMi
This section provides instructions for starting, stopping, or restarting OMi.

To enable OMi in a distributed environment, first enable the data processing servers, and then enable the gateway servers.
To enable OMi in a high availability setup, first enable the primary data processing server and wait until the process has completed. Make sure that all seven HAC processing are running. Then enable backup data processing servers, followed by gateway servers.
To disable OMi in a distributed environment, first disable the gateway servers, and then disable the data processing servers.
To disable OMi in a high availability environment, first disable the gateway servers, then disable any backup data processing servers, and finally disable the primary data processing server.

To start OMi in Windows:

Windows 2008: Select Start > Programs > HPE Operations Manager i > Administration > Enable HPE Operations Manager i.

Windows 2012: Press Ctrl + Esc and start typing Enable HPE Operations Manager i. Then click Enable HPE Operations Manager i in the search results.
To stop OMi in Windows:

Windows 2008: Select Start > Programs > HPE Operations Manager i > Administration > Disable HPE Operations Manager i.

Windows 2012: Press Ctrl + Esc and start typing Disable HPE Operations Manager i. Then click Disable HPE Operations Manager i in the search results.
Note When you stop OMi in Windows, the HPE Operations Manager i service is not removed from Microsoft’s Services window. The OMi service is removed from the Services window only after you uninstall OMi.
To start, stop, or restart OMi in Linux:
/opt/HP/BSM/scripts/run_hpbsm <start | stop | restart>
To start, stop, or restart OMi using a Daemon Script:
/etc/init.d/hpbsmd <start | stop | restart>
