Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Configure the New Environment
-
Run the OMi configuration wizard. Run the OMi configuration wizard on each machine to re-initialize the needed tables in the database. To run the OMi configuration wizard:
-
Windows 2008: Select Start > Programs > HPE Operations Manager i > Administration > Configure Operations Manager i.
-
Windows 2012: Press Ctrl + Esc and start typing Configure Operations Manager i. Then click Configure Operations Manager i in the search results.
-
Linux:
/opt/HP/BSM/bin/config-server-wizard.sh
.
Note When running the OMi configuration wizard, make sure to reconnect to the same databases that were created for the failover environment (that is, the one to which the backup data was shipped). Possible complete loss of configuration data will result if trying to run this on the production instance.
Run the OMi configuration wizard (or SilentConfigureBSM tool) on the machines. First, execute and conclude the OMi configuration on one data processing server. After this, you can configure additional data processing servers and/or gateway servers in parallel.
-
-
Enable OMi. Enable OMi on the new servers:
-
Windows 2008: Select Start > Programs > HPE Operations Manager i > Administration > Enable Operations Manager i.
-
Windows 2012: Press Ctrl + Esc and start typing Enable Operations Manager i. Then click Enable Operations Manager i in the search results.
-
Linux:
/opt/HP/BSM/scripts/run_hpbsm start
-
-
Disable any obsolete servers. Disable any obsolete servers that are not part of the failover instance.
To disable obsolete servers:
-
In OMi, navigate to
Administration > Setup and Maintenance > Server Deactivation
Alternatively, click Server Deactivation.
-
Select the servers you want to disable and click Disable.
-
-
Update the RTSM front-end URL setting.
-
Open the JMX console on the gateway server:
https://localhost:29912
-
Locate the UCMDB-UI section and select UCMDB-UI:name=UI Server frontend settings.
-
In the setUseFrontendURLBySettings section, set the value to the new OMi gateway server including the port. For example:
http://gateway-example.com:80
-
Click Invoke.
-
-
Repeat portions of high availability procedure (optional). If you had previously configured high availability and you want to keep those settings on the disaster recovery environment repeat the "Defining a Backup Server" part of Configuring Automatic Failover
-
Repeat hardening procedures (optional). If your original environment was hardened, you must repeat the hardening procedures on the new environment. The reverse proxy procedures do not have to be repeated. For details, see Hardening.
