Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Set up My Workspace
This section describes how to set up My Workspace. The following tasks are optional, and can be performed in any order.
Note that your ability to perform these tasks depends on your user permissions. For information on roles and permissions, see Users, Groups, and Roles.
My Workspace is provided with predefined pages, which are located in the Page Gallery, together with any pages you have created and saved. For details, see Predefined Pages.
-
To open a page, select the page from the Page Selector dropdown list on the Page Management toolbar, on the upper right area of your workspace. You can also type part of the page name in the Page Selector, to limit the number of pages in the dropdown list.
-
To create a new page, click the New Page button on the Page Management toolbar.
After you open a page, you can configure how the components will be arranged on the page. My Workspace enables you to define each layout as horizontal (components are displayed side by side), vertical (components are displayed one above the other), or in tabbed areas.
For details, see My Workspace.
For an example of defining layout, see in Configure the page layout – Use-Case Scenario.
My Workspace is provided with default components from the OMi applications, as described in Available Components. The default components are located in the Component Gallery, together with any external components you have added.
You can add a component to a page in one of two ways:
-
Within an empty layout area, click the Add Component button. Within the Component Gallery, double-click a component to place it in the layout area.
-
Click the Components button on the Page Management toolbar. Select a component in the Component Gallery, and drag it to an area on the page.
For details, see Component Gallery Dialog Box.
When adding components to a page, note the following:
-
If the target area is hidden by the Component Gallery dialog box, click the dialog box title bar and drag it to another location on your screen.
-
If you are dragging a new component to a target area that already has a component defined, drag the new component to the title bar of the target area, and not to the part of the component that is colored white.
-
When using the Components button on the Page Management toolbar to add a component, double-clicking is not supported.
You can add a URL as a component within My Workspace. Open a page, and click the Components button on the Page Management toolbar.
Click the Add External Component button, and define the component as described in Create an external component. The new component is added to the Component Gallery, and can then be added to any page.
For details, see New/Edit Component Dialog Box.
The interaction between components on a page in My Workspace is called wiring. After you place components on a page, you can define how components interact with one another.
Default pages have wiring predefined. You can also modify default wiring definitions. For example, if you have two components on a page, and you do not want them to interact with each other, you must disable the wiring between them. Click the Page Wiring button , and clear the corresponding checkbox.
For details, see Set up wiring between components.
My Workspace contains default categories within the Page Gallery and the Components Gallery to help you organize pages and components. You can add categories, edit or delete user-defined categories, and add or remove pages and components from categories.
For task details, see How to Modify Page and Component Categories.
To close a page, click the close icon in the upper right corner of the page. The page is closed in your workspace, but it is not removed from the page gallery.
To delete a page from the page gallery, click the Page Gallery button, select the page, and delete it. For details, see Page Gallery Dialog Box.
