Applies to User roles:

All roles

You can use the command line (if this feature is enabled for you) or the Change Password option in the ESS client to change your password.

To change your password by using the command line, follow these steps:

  1. On the web client or the Windows client, type password in the command line field. The Change Password form opens, and Service Manager displays the password form with your user name.

Note This option is available only if your administrator has given you access to the Service Manager command line.

  2. Type your old password in the Old password text box.
  3. Type your new password in the New password text box.
  4. Re-type your new password in the Confirm new password text box.
  5. Click OK.

To change your password by using the ESS client, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the ESS client.
  2. Click Change Password on the navigator.
  3. Enter your old and new passwords, and save the change.

The new password is required the next time you log on. If you start another session while the current session exists, you must use the new password. If you have a connection defined in the Connections dialog box, you must update the logon password in that dialog box and click Apply to save the connection information.
