Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Upgrade the applications from a version earlier than 9.60
You can use the Service Manager 9.60 Upgrade Utility to perform a major upgrade and upgrade your Service Manager applications from SM9.3x/9.4x/9.5x to SM9.60.
The upgrade package in this release consists of two folders: SM9.30-9.60.00xx_L10N and SM9.50-9.60.00xx_L10N. The SM9.30-9.60.00xx_L10N folder upgrades Service Manager 9.3x and 9.4x releases to Service Manager 9.60, whereas the SM9.50-9.60.00xx_L10N folder upgrades Service Manager 9.5x to Service Manager 9.60.
Important The Upgrade Utility supports language pack upgrade for the following 16 languages: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Turkish, Czech, Dutch, Hebrew, Hungarian, and Polish. The content added or updated in SM 9.60 and later releases is localized only for the first eleven languages. You can localize the English content for the rest of the languages through self localization.
Important There is a known issue with this release of the Upgrade Utility (see Known issues). We recommend using SM9.60 Upgrade Patch 1 instead.
