Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |

Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Custom Image
The Custom Image page enables you to display a view's CIs represented by real-time status indicators within a custom image that describes the real world that your view represents. The graphical representation of a view used by your organization can be a logical network diagram, business logic, or any other graphic image.

Administration > Service Health > Custom Image
Alternatively, click Custom Image.

You work with custom images in two stages:
-
Within Administration > Service Health > Custom Image, you associate an image with a view, and specify where each CI is located in the image.
-
Within Workspaces > My Workspace, you can then access the Custom Image component, and see the CI statuses in the view, within your custom image. For more details on the Custom Image component, see Custom Image component.
Tip When you create a custom image, you can:
-
Use any diagram or picture as an image, provided that the format is supported by the browser. The recommended formats are GIF, JPG, or PNG.
-
Define your custom image to display standard status icons, or CI type icons with status colors.
-
Import a static image to the OMi server, or load an image dynamically from a URL.
Tasks

-
-
Select a view from the drop-down list in the left pane.
-
In the right pane, click one of the following buttons depending on how you want to open an image:
-
Import Image From File:
Specify an image saved on your file system.
-
Open Image From URL:
Specify an image by using a URL. Note that any type of image supported by the browser can be loaded from any URL, but the URL must be available at all times to display the custom image.
-
-
-
Select a CI from the CI tree in the left pane, and click
Add CI.
-
Drag the selected CI to the required location in the image.
Tip Consider the following:
-
Do not overlap CI icons. When icons overlap, only the top status indicator is visible in the custom image.
-
After setting a CI icon on the diagram, you can move the cursor over it to display the CI name in a tooltip.
-
To add multiple CIs, hold down the Ctrl key while you click CIs that you want to select, and click
Add CI. If you want to select all CIs, press Ctrl+A.
- To delete a CI from the custom image, select it, and click
Remove CI.
-
-
From the Display type drop-down list, select one of the following:
-
Status icons. Display standard status icons in the Custom Image component.
-
CI type icons. Display CI type icons that use status colors in the Custom Image component.
-
Add additional CIs as required. When you finish adding CIs, click Save.
Note If you specified an image by using a URL, the custom image will only display the image if it can access the URL. Only one URL or image is saved per view.
-
-
Display the view's custom image:
After you complete the custom image, you can display it in the Custom Image component, to view the CI's status in the appropriate location in the diagram.
