Choosing a calculation method

Choosing the calculation method for the number of installations enables you to verify that you have not exceeded the number of rights specified in the software license. For example, an office software license credits you with one thousand (1,000) rights. Each software installation consumes ten points. The software installation counter enables you to verify that the software has not been installed more than one hundred (100) times (100 x 10 = 1,000). Service Manager provides three calculation methods:

  • Count each installation regardless of the number of workstations or users.
  • Count each workstation regardless of the number of installations on each workstation or users on the workstation.
  • Count each user regardless of the number of workstations or installations.
