Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.

Service Catalog security areas and roles
Service Manager provides the following out-of-box security areas and security roles to control access to the Service Catalog module.
Security areas
Service Manager provides two out-of-box security areas for the Service Catalog module. To access these security areas and view the Service Catalog access rights of different security roles, go to System Administration > Security > Areas.
Area | Description |
---|---|
Service Catalog | This area contains the default security rights and settings for categories, bundles, and items. The rights will be copied to new roles created for this area. However, the settings will only be inherited if there are no settings specified on the role. |
Service Catalog Configuration | This area contains the default security rights and settings for Service Catalog administration. The rights will be copied to new roles created for this area. However, the settings will only be inherited if there are no settings specified on the role. |

Security role
Service Manager provides one out-of-box security role, Service Catalog Administrator, for the Service Catalog module. To access this security role and its rights and settings, go to System Administration > Security > Roles. This role has full administration rights to the Service Catalog and Service Catalog Configuration security areas. The following table lists the rights of this role to different security areas.
