Searching the Help
To search for information in the Help, type a word or phrase in the Search box. When you enter a group of words, OR is inferred. You can use Boolean operators to refine your search.
Results returned are case insensitive. However, results ranking takes case into account and assigns higher scores to case matches. Therefore, a search for "cats" followed by a search for "Cats" would return the same number of Help topics, but the order in which the topics are listed would be different.
Search for | Example | Results |
---|---|---|
A single word | cat
|
Topics that contain the word "cat". You will also find its grammatical variations, such as "cats". |
A phrase. You can specify that the search results contain a specific phrase. |
"cat food" (quotation marks) |
Topics that contain the literal phrase "cat food" and all its grammatical variations. Without the quotation marks, the query is equivalent to specifying an OR operator, which finds topics with one of the individual words instead of the phrase. |
Search for | Operator | Example |
---|---|---|
Two or more words in the same topic |
|
|
Either word in a topic |
|
|
Topics that do not contain a specific word or phrase |
|
|
Topics that contain one string and do not contain another | ^ (caret) |
cat ^ mouse
|
A combination of search types | ( ) parentheses |

Monitoring Cisco Unified Communications Manager Clusters and Cisco Unified Communications Managers
You can use the UCM Clusters inventory as a launching point for many additional forms that display the health and performance of Cisco Unified Communications Managers and their components.
These additional forms include:
- UCM Cluster Details
- UCM Subscriber Group Details
- Device Pool Details
- MGCP/SCCP Gateways
- SRST Routers
- IC Trunks
- Media Devices
- Voice Mail Devices
- Cisco Call Controller Details
- H323 Trunk Details
- Voice Gateway
- Voice Gateway Interfaces
The UCM Clusters inventory provides a window to view many operational and performance characteristics of discovered Cisco Unified Communications Manager clusters, Cisco Unified Communications Managers, and associated components. You can also configure thresholds for additional monitoring attributes by using the Monitoring Configuration window.
From each form, you can open the Monitoring Configuration window by clicking Actions > IP Telephony. In the Monitoring Configuration window, you can define thresholds for additional monitoring attributes.
After defining thresholds for additional attributes in the Monitoring Configuration window, you can:
- Monitor incidents generated by the NNM iSPI for IP Telephony based on threshold definitions
- View the attribute values in the analysis pane
- Generate reports for attributes for which you have defined thresholds
Note In a Global Network Management (GNM) scenario, from the global manager console, you cannot add, edit, delete, or disable the monitoring settings for the entities managed by the regional managers.
If you log on as operator 1
or operator 2
, and if Single Sign-On is configured, you can configure monitoring settings for items that you can view in different Cisco IP telephony inventory views that you can access from the UCM Clusters view.
Note This feature is not available for Cisco Unified Communications ManagerExpress systems (systems listed in the UCMEs inventory).
