The following tasks explain how you can keep the network up and running with NNMi.

Task NNMi Console Workspace

Determine the following:

  • For which devices are you responsible (Nodes and Node Groups)?
  • Which of those devices would cause the most disruption in network traffic if anything goes wrong?
Topology Maps

Quickly identify problem devices (Nodes) in your network environment.

View information about a selected set of devices (Node Group).

Inventory

View the incident history for one or more problems.

Tip NNMi generates incidents to proactively alert your team about potential problems or actual problems.

Incident Browsing
Take action on an incident that alerted you to a problem with one or more devices. Incident Management
  • Determine the location or context of the problem.
  • Ascertain the health of a particular network device or Node Group.
  • Check the real-time routing path between nodes.
Troubleshooting

Proactively monitor the health of one or more devices in your network environment.

Monitoring
  • Identify nodes scheduled for maintenance or a scheduled outage.
  • Prevent incidents from being generated for one or more objects.
